Reminder: QuitCore Non-smoking program

We have an amazing new program starting next week to help people quit smoking.  Please forward this to anyone you know that is thinking about quitting and please send to your friends and co-workers!  Please note the registration deadline is Monday, January 26th.  Space is limited.

We can help you join the 1 million Albertans that have quit smoking. Starting next week QuitCore is being offered in Airdrie, Calgary, Camrose, Claresholm, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Stettler, and Wetaskiwin.  QuitCore is based on a program that has helped a record number of people quit and has been available in Calgary for 25 years.
 
QuitCore is a free group support program, led by trained professionals, that teaches you how to quit smoking and connects you with others who are also quitting.  Sessions run in the evening from 7:00 to 8:30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday depending on your location.   For more information please call us toll-free at 1-866-710-QUIT (7848) or visit us at www.quitcore.ca
 
 
When and where does the program take place?

The program consists of eight 90 minute sessions, over a period of 14 weeks. Sessions for the winter program will run from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the following areas:
  • Calgary sessions start on January 27th  and will be held at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre
  • Sessions in Airdrie, Camrose, Claresholm, Fort McMurray, Stettler and Wetaskiwin will take place via Telehealth, starting on January 28th
  • Edmonton sessions start on January 29th  and will be held at Grant MacEwan College.

TEACH is coming back to Alberta in early 2009!

QuitCore - a Group Smoking Cessation Program

QuitCore is an evidence-based group program designed to help people quite smoking, available in Airdrie, Calgary, Camrose, Claresholdm, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Stettler and Wetaskiwin. The 14 week course includes 8 in-depth sessions that teach participatns how to quit in the most effective way possible. QuitCore began more than 25 years ago in Calgary, as a program offered through the Alberta Cancer board and has helped close to 7,000 individuals become smoke-free.
