QuitCore is an evidence-based group program designed to help people quite smoking, available in Airdrie, Calgary, Camrose, Claresholdm, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Stettler and Wetaskiwin. The 14 week course includes 8 in-depth sessions that teach participatns how to quit in the most effective way possible. QuitCore began more than 25 years ago in Calgary, as a program offered through the Alberta Cancer board and has helped close to 7,000 individuals become smoke-free.
Sessions start on January 27th. The deadline to register is January 26th and space is limited. Anyone looking to join an upcoming QuitCore group can call toll-free 1-866-710-QUIT (7848) or email quittobacco@cancerboard.ab.ca.
